We have two strings to our consultancy — the purely advice-driven and management of technical projects.

Strategic Advice

This is the main focus of our business. We have many years’ experience, have watched many IT phases and fads, two internet bubbles, and have drawn lessons from them all. We can bring this long view to bear on any technology or IT strategy questions you have, or decisions you need to make.

We are never in the business of upselling the next greatest thing. We are only focussed on one thing — what is right for your company. Often that’s even doing nothing. But we can tell you the answers you need to know: what the range of answers are, the strengths and weaknesses of each, the fit with your business that each has, and the cost/benefit ratio of each to you.

With that, you can make the informed decisions necessary.

Technical Project Management

We also take on project management roles in IT implementations. Our technical ability is greatest in what we consider the most important part of IT — the ‘plumbing.’ Not glamorous, but it’s what makes absolutely everything else hang together. We think of ‘plumbing’ as including —

  • Network design — both LAN and WAN designs to suit business needs including routing, firewalling, and VPN architectures.
  • Microsoft enterprise architectures — Active Directory, DNS, DHCP & Group Policy, for small and large businesses.
  • Messaging — Exchange 2000 / 2003 / 2007 and the client end — Outlook and especially mobile devices
  • Internet-facing services on Microsoft servers
  • Microsoft Operations Manager implementations — automated issue monitoring and alerting across your server architecture

We have designed and implemented IT infrastructures ranging from 10-seat single sites through to 5,000-seat multi-site organisations. Working with others, our technical experience ranges up to 20,000-seat multinational organisations.
